The Public File is an independent archive of public records, government documents, correspondence, reports, and court filings organized for public review. Most records are obtained through the California Public Records Act (CPRA). We believe public trust is strengthened when records are accessible, facts are verifiable, and information is available to everyone.
The goal is to make public records available to the public.
Many important discussions about local government occur through documents that are difficult to obtain, scattered across agencies, or buried within lengthy records requests. The Public File organizes those records into searchable collections, timelines, and Public Interest Files so readers can review the underlying documents for themselves.
The Public File does not ask readers to accept conclusions. Instead, it provides the records, the chronology, and the source materials so that members of the public can evaluate the evidence directly. Readers are encouraged to review the records and draw their own conclusions.
